Components vary according to discipline. An abstract of a social science or scientific work may contain the scope, purpose, results, and contents of the work. An abstract of a humanities work may contain the thesis, background, and conclusion of the larger work. An abstract is not a review, nor does it evaluate the work being abstracted. While it contains key words found in the larger work, the abstract is an original document rather than an excerpted passage.

Translation of a scientific abstract / abstract for a research paper / conference abstract

Abstracts do not need to be translated officially.  However, in the linguistic company ILUMINATA, it is usually translated by a sworn translator and if not, it is definitely proofread by one.  

What to do if I need my abstract translated?

1. You can upload the e-version of your abstract either via our e-shop www.translatecee.com or as an e-mail attachment addressed to info@iluminata.sk. 

2. Select the target language. 

3. You will receive an e-bill.

4. Look for the translation of your abstract in your inbox within 24 hours of crediting our account (check the spam folder if missing).
